GRAFFITI WORKSHOPS
Hardknock Graffiti Workshops are designed to encourage expression through this diverse and highly creative art form. Tutors can design workshops that are specially tailored to meet your students/ schools/ organisations needs – be it a less than attractive playground wall that needs a bright overhaul or a more intricate project such as an exhibition.
The workshop gives an insight into how graffiti art began, how it progressed and where it stands now in our modern society and how you can use it to benefit others, through charitable events for example. These workshops are also a great way of encouraging teamwork and a sense of unity in youth groups. Our graffiti tutors are highly experienced in their field and in working with young people from various backgrounds and competences.
These workshop raises awareness about how to engage positively in graffiti art, educating on where it is safe and legal to do so and how to safely use materials.
Portfolios are available on request.
Graffiti is a controversial art form that has the capacity to divide opinions across society. The question remains, is it a valid art form or a criminal activity that can be seen as mere vandalism?
‘Graffiti is not the lowest form of art’. Banksy
‘There is no elitism or hype, it exhibits on some of the best walls a town has to offer’. Banksy
‘The wall has always been the best place to publish your work.’ Banksy
We at Hardknock Productions believe graffiti used in a positive and constructive way, and in the right environment can be seen as an art form in its own right. A creative art form which allows young people to explore identity and act as a vehicle for self-expression in our sometimes unforgiving contemporary society.
‘The project ran really smoothly from start to finish, Ed was a great communicator. The design stages were all about the young people. The concept of the piece came directly from the young people. Throughout the entire process of the finished piece for the wall the young people were at the forefront, great project very happy with the final outcome.’ Cape Play & Youth Project – Archie Morrell
