| THEATRE EDUCATION
Drama has an important role to play in the personal development of young people in education. The skills and qualities developed by learners in drama, such as teamwork, creativity, leadership and risk-taking are assets in all subjects and all areas of life. Drama stimulates the imagination and allows students to explore issues and experiences in a safe and supportive environment.
Imagination is more important than knowledge.

Hardknock Productions provides educational programmes designed for schools/youth/education organisations. Central to our ethos is Education; we do this through supporting the National Curriculum in helping to raise learning standards by applying a stimulus that also educates on social skills, community affairs and life skills. Our approach is based on:
- Inspiration
- Motivation
- Education
- Dedication
These key elements support a structure that encourages personal growth and personal responsibility for our own achievements. At present, our services include drama workshops and graffiti workshops, which are geared towards creating an environment that encourages young people to explore all their abilities. The Hardknock Arts Workshop is a space where teamwork, self-awareness, creativity and confidence building can develop.
Creative ‘play’ – seeking to see the world afresh – is at times a fight against the fascination which familiar associations and directions of thought exert on us. Young people need to be encouraged to understand the importance of this kind of ‘play’.
